COLLIGNON – Between Psychedelic Sounds, Global Grooves, and Driving Electronic Energy

Raw and excessive, known for their overwhelming and infectious energy, the blazing live band COLLIGNON returns to Germany in September on their Tempo Tempo Tempo! Tour, bringing their exotic instrumental psychedelia to Cologne, Berlin, Hamburg, and Schleswig. After burning dance floors across Europe, playing impressive shows at last year’s Reeperbahn festival, and with a fresh release coming in August, the three old punks are back on the road – parking their bikes outside the Gretchen and taking the crowd inside on a journey toward ecstatic states.

COLLIGNON’s sound moves effortlessly between psychedelic music, global grooves, and driving electronic club energy. The band blends traditional influences from Portuguese-speaking regions such as Cape Verde, Brazil, Mozambique, Angola, and Guinea-Bissau with contemporary production, kraut-inspired motorik rhythms, hypnotic synth layers, and raw live improvisation – creating a dense, instrumental sound that is both archaic and futuristic, a pull impossible to resist.

The band consists of Gino Bombrini (drums & percussion), Yves Lennertz (guitar), and Jori Collignon (synths). Based in the Netherlands and Portugal, Jori collaborates intensively with artists from Portuguese-speaking countries. A former member of bands such as SKIP&DIE, Nobody Beats the Drum, and C-mon & Kypski, he has earned a reputation as a producer and musician for transcending genres and pushing musical boundaries.

This cross-border creative exchange is fully realized on their debut album, “Bicicleta” (2025). Conceived with vinyl in mind, the album tells a story from A to B – imagined as an adventurous bike ride through diverse soundscapes: from repetitive, trance-like passages to rhythmically complex, globally infused grooves – highlighting the band’s narrative, flowing approach. “Bicicleta” was not only Album of the Day on Bandcamp but also became a favorite among bicycle enthusiasts and activists across Europe: Cycledelica. Fight for your ride.

For this event we offer discounted tickets to give people with less money still access to culture. These quotas are limited and only available at TixforGigs. We trust in your self-assessment: If you can, please book standard tickets and leave the reduced tickets to those who have to save money at the moment.
