Hamburg-based multi-instrumentalist and producer The Offline (aka Felix Müller) expands his cinematic sound universe with his second album, La grande évasion, blending hip-hop elements, library-inspired textures, and psychedelic influences. The album unfolds as a journey through memory, place, inner movement, and photography – a narrative soundscape suspended between longing and presence.

The Offline was born when Felix traveled along the Atlantic coast of southern France with his analogue camera, capturing beach life on film. After returning to his hometown, he began composing songs as a sonic counterpart to these analogue visuals. The Offline approaches sound as a visual narrative: analogue instruments, Rhodes chords, guitars, brass, and gentle breakbeats intersect with the aesthetics of vintage library and jazz records.

With his new album, La grande évasion, released on DeepMatter Records, The Offline deepens this concept: a musical escape into other worlds, inspired by sci-fi, photography, and wanderlust. Across psychedelic jazz-funk, surf guitars, and Rhodes ballads, a cinematic groove emerges – simultaneously driving and dreamlike – striking a perfect balance between nostalgia and discovery.
