The legendary Berlin band Lychee Lassi is celebrating its 25th anniversary with a tour in its original lineup. They’ve been doing this for quite a while now—since 2024, to be exact—and because everyone involved is having such a great time, they simply don’t stop. Which means: in 2026, Lychee Lassi return to Gretchen.
Founded in Berlin in 1999, Based, Beat, Berger, and DJ Illvibe reunite to finally bring their unique blend of hip-hop beats, turntablism, and jam-band improvisation back to the stage.
After spending years on the country’s biggest stages as musicians for Seeed, Peter Fox, and Marteria, Lychee Lassi strip away all commercial ambition and fuse hip hop with jazz, krautrock, and funk. This is only the foundation, though—layered with countless influences from across music history, reshaped with skewed energy, raw power, and distorted vinyl voices, all rigorously tuned toward individuality.
Experimental, idiosyncratic, powerful, and modern, their sound has kindred spirits in artists like DJ Spooky and Kid Koala. It works brilliantly live—ecstatic, uninhibited, and pure fun.
