Alexander Flood is one of Australia’s commanding beat-masters, possessing a unique and finessed arsenal of groove, power, and expertise on the drums. Leading his own band from the drum chair, Alex’s music pushes a fresh rhythmic and dynamic realm of live dance music leaning on nu-jazz, deep-house, broken beat, DnB, funk, and experimental sounds.

2023 saw Flood align with Berlin’s Jakarta Records to release his third album ”OSCILLATE”, forging a new direction in dance music and bringing together Australian & European artistry, energy and collaboration. Flood continues the momentum through 2025, with his bold sounding 4th studio album ”ARTIFACTUAL RHYTHM” to be released in April via Atjazz Record Company (run by none other than the notable UK DJ Atjazz).

Flood’s band consists of some of Australia’s finest instrumentalists - Erica Tucceri on flute, Jake Amy on keyboards, and Dylan Paul holding down the low end on bass, who has played together with Alex for 10 years. The band is catching ears within Australia and internationally, having recently performed at WOMADelaide, Melbourne International Jazz Festival, JazzMontez Frankfurt and clubs across Europe.
