Emerging from the transcultural cauldron that is Paris, the French-Algerian collective was born from the encounter between Pierre-Yves Casanova, Nicolas Borne, Hervé Carvalho, Guido Minisky and Kenzi Bourras. With their intoxicating blend of sharp Western electronic music with Eastern sounds & vocals, they’ve been putting worldwide festivals and club audiences under a spell. Since 2017, they've been regulars at Gretchen, whether through their self-curated club night La Hafla, explosive live shows, exclusive all-night DJ sets, or collaborations with emerging DJs and producers who share their artistic and visionary ethos.
Aiming at creating a space for Arab culture in the world of contemporary electronic music, Acid Arab patiently honed their style through their numerous collaborations and their constant travels all around the Mediterranean and beyond. A musical encounter of different worlds - of instruments, melodies, technology and people. From Algerian gasba, Anatolian trance, synthetic dabkeh, bionic raï and many more, Acid Arab have incorporated and invented a spectrum of styles, breaking boundaries between genres.
Producer Cheb Runner is a musical hurricane rooted in Moroccan soil and exploring multiple musical landscapes. Cheb Runner represents a new sound of inbetweenness, nurtured by different worlds while running back & forth in time. Using first hand sounds and recordings of his own sample bank based on traditional instruments, Cheb Runner playfully mixes analog with digital effects supported by a unique collection of synthesizers. Cheb Runner started his musical career flirting with different aliases, collectives and genres. As producer, composer and DJ, he is merging traditional and contemporary electronic music together, moving from Moroccan chaabi over spiritual sounds to eclectic disco and deep techno.
French-Lebanese music project Tales & Ahlam is a collaboration between French producer DJ Bab and Lebanese singer Celinatique. The duo blends Arabic pop melodies with energetic house music and club-ready production, creating a unique soundscape where catchy vocals and familiar instrumentation of Arabic pop intertwine with the driving rhythms and electronic sounds of house music.
Box 2 belongs to Cosmo Vitelli. Cosmo Vitelli hasn't slept since 1973. Instead, he's replaced slumber with a relentless exploration of dance music, sharing his discoveries as an accomplished DJ and label manager, but also as an esteemed producer. He has always preferred to spend his sleepless nights behind the decks, making the crowds dance to new and unknown tunes.
