Die aus Detroit stammende Bassistin, Komponistin und Bandleaderin Endea Owens z\u00e4hlt mit ihrem funkigen Kontrabassstil zu den vielversprechendsten jungen Talenten der Jazzszene. Ihr virtuoses Bassspiel zeichnet sich durch Tiefe und Ausdruckskraft aus und verbindet klassische Jazz-Einfl\u00fcsse mit modernen Elementen. \u00dcber ihre technischen F\u00e4higkeiten hinaus verbindet sie auf beeindruckende Weise emotionale Resonanz mit rhythmischer Komplexit\u00e4t. Ihr Deb\u00fctalbum \u201cFeel Good Music\u201c (2023), das sie mit ihrer Band \u201cThe Cookout\u201c eingespielt hat, ist ein Universum aus gef\u00fchlvollen Melodien und rhythmischer Dynamik. Es ist h\u00f6rbar im Jazz der Swinging Sixties und Seventies verwurzelt, geht aber weit dar\u00fcber hinaus. H\u00f6rt euch ihre Tiny-Desk-Performance auf NPR an: eine erhebende Mischung aus Jazz, Gospel und Neo-Soul-Energie, die sch\u00f6ner nicht sein k\u00f6nnte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Endea Owens kann bereits auf eine beeindruckende Karriere zur\u00fcckblicken. Als Absolventin der renommierten Juilliard School und unter Anleitung von Gr\u00f6\u00dfen wie Marcus Belgrave, Rodney Whitaker und Ron Carter hat sie sich behutsam ins Rampenlicht gespielt. Sie arbeitete mit K\u00fcnstlern wie Wynton Marsalis, Jennifer Holliday, Diana Ross und Solange zusammen. Au\u00dferdem spielt sie in verschiedenen Ensembles wie dem Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra und der Band „Stay Human“, der Hausband von „The Late Show With Stephen Colbert“ unter der Leitung von Jon Batiste. Und obwohl sie erst am Anfang ihrer gro\u00dfen Karriere steht, hat sie bereits einen Emmy, einen Grammy und einen George Foster Peabody Award auf ihrem Kaminsims stehen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
